Nijolė Šaltenytė


Aistė Bugailiškytė, lietuvių dailininkė

Nijolė Šaltenytė - was born in 1946, Kaunas. 1965-1968 she studied design at Vilnius State Art Institute (now VDA), 1969-1973 graduated from graphic arts also there. Member Lithuanian Artists' Union since 1981. Curator of International Small Graphics Biennials (1994, 1996, 1998), International Small Graphics Triennials (2001, 2004, 2007), Lithuanian Graphics Exhibitions (2003, 2006), Book Art Exhibitions (2009, 2012; all in Vilnius). 1995-2000 and 2008-2012 she was chairwoman of Graphics Department in Lithuanian Artists' Union.

Artist since 1986 participates in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad (in United States of America, Japan, Canada, Germany, Argentina), organized more than 30 individual exhibitions. Artist's artworks are owned by Lithuanian National Art Museum, National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum, MO Museum in Vilnius, and Čiurlionis Art Gallery in Chicago.

Nijolė Šaltenytė was awarded Knight's Cross Order for Merit to Lithuania (2007) and Golden badge of Lithuanian Artists' Union (2015).
